<nhp> kadia, you crack me up! LOL

<a-net> I came on about 5:45 (CT) before BUNCO.

<SilentSam> Hi, Dilla.

<a-net> We have been waiting, Dilla.

<Dilla> Hi there!!!!

<Dilla> I just got home from work.

<a-net> Is Red5 coming tonight?

<nhp> Are we going to make this a regular thing or what?

<carokent> Regular as in nightly or weekly?

<Calico1> Weekly is nice.

<nhp> at least weekly

<nhp> I couldn't handle nightly with yard work

<a-net> Has Ken arrived?

> Hi Dilla! Everyone, welcome Ken Wales!

<carokent> Hi David!

<DAPence> hi all

<SilentSam> Hello David

<nukecity> Hi Dave

<nhp> Hi DAvid

* kadia waves her hands above her head to get everyone's attention

<Dilla> I think so but EfNet is better for me.

<DAPence> how's the 'chat' going

<Calico1> Welcome and thanks for the advice. macIrc is running good.

<Dilla> I have a lot of lag!

<carokent> We're listening, Kadia!

> Well, questions??

<Calico1> Allears.

<a-net> any order?

<carokent> who's on first

> KW: Just swappin' howdies!

<nhp> what's on second

<carokent> Howdy, Ken!

<SilentSam> Hello, Ken.

<Dilla> I would just like to say thank you for coming. We appreciate it.

<nhp> Howdy Ken!

<Calico1> Why does that sound familiar?!

<a-net> Hi, Ken! I LOVE Christy.

> kw: And I love all of you!

<Calico1> We ALL love Christy

<nhp> We all love Christy!!!!!

<a-net> I LOVE DAVID GRANTLAND!

<nukecity> Thanks for coming, Mr. Wales.

<nhp> not, SFM

<Calico1> The rest of us all love SFM!!!

<a-net> DAVID IS THE MAN.

> kw: I just came back from Townsend/Cutter Gap...

<carokent> Shall i ask the first question?

> kw: And where I kept my promise where I first came there

<nhp> what were you doing there if I may ask?

<Calico1> Start us off Caro.

<DAPence> from what i could tell from the e-mail i received when i hosted the christy page, a ton of people loved Christy.

> kw: to the townspeople and the county school board, that when the time came for Christy to have a long pause in it's production

*** alexarthur (westmed@ppp-206-170-68-196.irvn11.pacbell.net) has joined channel #CutterGap

<Calico1> What's not to love?

<SilentSam> Hello, Kevin.

<nhp> we want Christy back!

> kw: I would personally help them close the two-story, beautiful, old elementary school where we had our production offices.

<Calico1> Please!!!!

<Dilla> Oh, yes!!

<alexarthur> hello! what have i missed!

<Calico1> We just started.

> kw: This is a beautiful building and sadly, will be bulldozed in a week to make way for an expanded children's playground

<carokent> Oh, no!

* Dilla is sad.

<carokent> But you may need it in the future!

<nhp> can it be moved?

<a-net> I want it.

<Calico1> Or rebuilt?

> kw: Together wiht the Townsend Heritage Group, we tried to find another site for the playground, but it needed to be adjacent to the school grounds. That's the tough news, but I have some good news also!

<carokent> We could use some!

<nhp> a children's playground on the site of Christy?

<DAPence> well, just wanted to stop by and say hi, have to go back to work...ken wales, keep at them.

*** Signoff: DAPence (Leaving)

<Calico1> tell us the good new!!

<Dilla> Oh, please do!

<carokent> You've got a new project in the works?

<Dilla> Julie?

<Calico1> Christy?

<a-net> I am not getting any messages.

> kw: Okay. We sold the remaining props and set dressings to the Museum of Appalachia in Norris, Tennessee just outside of Knoxville and John Rice Irwin (the wonderful, knowledgeable curator of Appallachian lore who owns the museum) is excited

<nhp> Me neither.

<carokent> Have patience!

<Calico1> Okay.

> kw: about using all the things from Christy to build a superb Christy Living Exhibit, indoors and outdoors, at the museum. Also, we managed to save some special pieces from Christy's bedroom and the parlor in the mission house as well as Alice Henderson's bedroom for a future exhibit in Townsend.

<carokent> Oh, that sounds lovely!

<nhp> does this mean that there is to be no more "new" Christy episodes?

> kw: Ironically, while there, I said when I probably finished disbanding these pieces, I'd come up with a new show. The next day the Family Channel was bought by Rupert Murdoch, who owns the Fox Network,

<nhp> ever?

> kw: and they will be, probably, replacing some of the personnel at the Family Channel. Therefore, it's possible that Christy will indeed be reconsidered in the future.

<Dilla> !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<carokent> Coolness!

> kw: Anyway, God has a greater plan than we can ever imagine. Let's see what happens.

<Calico1> Wonderful!

<a-net> Who said this.

<SilentSam> Yea

<Dilla> So we can continue our calling/writing campaign?

<a-net> YES!

<Calico1> In HIS time.

> Annette, Ken just said this!!!

<nhp> Isn't it foolish to get rid of the set pieces then?

<carokent> Are the main structures still intact?

> KW: I think the thing to do is just to say that Christy is just as viable as other network show. I also heard that they are going to do a feature film of Little House On The Prairie,

<a-net> Did you say that Kellie Martin's costumes are in the museum?

<nhp> If a playground is going in Townsend, then where could Christy be filmed next?

<Calico1> They are bringiing back so many 'old' shows.

<carokent> A Little House Prequel or Sequel?

<nukecity> When do you think the exhibit in Townsend and at the Norris museum will be finished? We have a Christy weekend scheduled for August, thanks to Elaine Cockerham.

<Calico1> Would Christy have a better chance of returning if it was filmed in a more accessable location than Townsend?

> kw: Regarding the costumes: Many of them were sadly damaged or ruined when the building leaked badly during the winter storms; also vandals broke in and sprayed the area with fire extinguishers. However, "Mountie's" real mother and several other "Christy" families came to the rescue and managed to save much of the wardrobes.

<carokent> Townsend is inaccessable?

<Dilla> oh, no!! vandals?

<carokent> I can't believe it! That sort of thing doesn't happen in Townsend, usually!

> kw: Also, Gail Evans, the costume designer, had personally saved several of the clothes in her home in Houston.

> kw: I'm having a great time! Especially eating the munchies...

<nhp> So, should we continue our calls for a Christy "revival?"

<a-net> Are the clothes available to buy?

<carokent> Hey, we don't have any munchies1

<Dilla> I simply love the wardrobes. All the high collars, long sleeves...

<carokent> You have enough clothes, A!

<Dilla> <grin> Aw, Caro!

> kw: I have told a number of people in Townsend to get ahold of you so that they can know you're coming, Nuke.

<a-net> My mom has made me several dresses to resemble Christy. My favorite is the one from Babe in the Woods.

<alexarthur> It seems there is a resurgence of family/inspirational shows right now..does this help our cause to bring Christy back?

<nhp> So, should we continue our calls about Christy?

<nukecity> Great! I check the mail every day!

> kw: Inaccessible: I chose Townsend eight years ago because it was *very* accessible. It's only 20 minutes from the airport, and the set is 2 minutes from the center of town

<Calico1> And to whom should be make them, CBS, FAM, or MTM?

<a-net> It sounds like Family Channel and Fox are the ones to beg.

> kw: John won't have the exhibit ready by August...

<carokent> Yes, Townsend is in a very good location.

<Calico1> Yes, it sure sounds it.

<nhp> so if a playground is going in, how could Christy even be filmed there?

<Calico1> The scenery there was so beautiful.

> kw: On the calls/write-ins: Suggest to the other networks that they should pick up Christy, since CBS has Quinn and Touched By An Angel.

<nhp> the Family network?

<nukecity> Like which ones?

<Dilla> Oooh--okay!!

<Calico1> We can do that.

<Dilla> I"ll get right on it.

> kw:alex: Yes, it does help. My concern is that it is a window that is rapidly closing. Family feature films did very poorly this year. Touched By An Angel's ratings are slowly declining, and the networks are still chasing the 18-35 demographics

<nhp> I am making the next set of calls on July 8. Can you recommend who I should call?

<a-net> I'm 29.

<nukecity> Yes, I'm supposed to call this week,

<nhp> I guess if you don't have smut or sleeze, then they don't want to make them!

> Nancy: I would call Fox, since they just bought the Family Channel. They paid 1.9 billion dollars for the Family Channel.

<nhp> thank you for the info.

> kw: And will begin to make personnel changes in 30-45 days, according to Variety Magazine.

<Calico1> Maybe we can change their minds about Christy now.

<IB-Dave> Ken, you should explain to some of these people that where you stored the sets (old schoolhouse) is not anywhere near the Christy film sites. Also, Jean & I say HI - are you coming south to check out the Mexican "Titanic" site? If so - make sure you drop by please.

> kw: Thanks so much, Bev, for the encouragement. I'm going to keep trying here. We have some legal things to clear up with the Marshall family, who have suddenly become very greedy about the rights.

<nhp> Ken, do you have any new pilot ideas and do any of them include SFM?

<Calico1> We are big fans of SFM

<a-net> I hope any new plot ideas include David and Christy.

> kw: In fact, this change in their attitude has scared the Family Channel away from making new episodes, even though CBS might like to air them.

<IB-Dave> Re: the Marshall family - CTM is having the same problems with them.

<Calico1> That's a shame.

<Dilla> What I'm confused about is that Christy was 34th in its first season, the same year Dr. Q was 19th...in Touched by an Angel's first season, it was 71st, while Dr. Q was 44th that year.

<nukecity> Can we appeal to the Marshall family?

> kw: Yes, I have some new ideas. Why don't we do a new series about a mountain physician and call it "Dr. Mountain" as the kids would say, and star SFM?

<Dilla> So why was Christy cancelled due to "bad ratings" but TbaA was renewed?

<Calico1> You've got my vote!!!

<alexarthur> is the 18-35 demographics the primary focus fiscally?

> kw: As a doctor who chooses the mountains as his home instead of the big city. By the way,

<carokent> Let's do it!

<a-net> Include the preacher please

<carokent> no way!

<a-net> yes way

<nhp> Dr. Mountain??? Sounds like a "hick" show.

> kw: Stewart has completely shaved his head, (temporarily), for a space/action feature film.

<carokent> WE are not hicks!

<Calico1> Oh no!

<Dilla> Yikes.

<carokent> You're kidding?

<a-net> Yes, that would make Christy love hairy David.

> kw: He wanted me to tell you all that, in case you saw him on the street and thought he'd gone completely mad. It'll grow back!

<carokent> I would still love him, bald head and all!

<alexarthur> what is SFM's new film?

<carokent> Men in bald?

<Dilla> lol, A-net, you're so funny!

> kw: Christy had very good ratings the first year, and was up against the toughest NBC competition Thursday night,

<nhp> I am not calling you a hick Caro, but Dr. Mountain?

<a-net> How about Mrs. Preacher?

<nhp> how about Mountain Man, but not Dr. Mountain!

> No Caro, he's not kidding about Stewart.

<carokent> Well, it will be cooler!

<Calico1> And it is summer.

> kw: The Preacher's Wife is a pilot that has been done by David Kelly, whom I think did ER, brb...

<nhp> I can't picture SFM without his curly locks

<alexarthur> I agree Caro..SFM was the best! The casting was outstanding for Christy. How were such perfect actor choices made? They really made the book come alive.

<a-net> Ken, what was your favorite episode? Mine is Babe in the Woods.

<Dilla> Oh, I know.

<Calico1> I liked Green Apples.

<carokent> Ken, if Christy is revived, do you have some idea of how you would resolve the cliffhanger?

<Dilla> He'll be back!

<Dilla> He's taking a quick break.

<carokent> My favorite is "Amazing Grace!"

<carokent> No breaks allowed!

<nhp> nature calls Caro

<a-net> Is he in the outhouse?

<Dilla> Only if it's to get Caro some munchies.

<carokent> Caro really doesn't need munchies - she just had a huge dinner!

<Dilla> I didn't mean anything of the sort! I was just saying that brb is be right back.

<a-net> I just had dinner also.

<nukecity> What did you have, possum, grits?

<nhp> I didn't say that a-net, but he does deserve a break

<nhp> barf, nuke!

<Dilla> I hope she took the buckshot out first.

<carokent> pork chops, actually!

<Calico1> We've thrown alot of questions at him.

<nhp> I can't cook it in less than 20 min. LOL

<carokent> ok, guys, quit ganging up on me!

<carokent> He left just as I asked a good one!

<Calico1> Did you do the dishes ?

<carokent> no, they're soaking

* Dilla grins good-naturedly

<nukecity> Just like yesterday's . . and the day before's

<alexarthur> I am also interested in how he would answer, Caro!

<nhp> So can we call anyone else Dilla or just FOX

<carokent> Caro's interested too!

<Dilla> I'd still try calling Ray Faiola--he was so nice.

<nhp> Caro, are you getting in trouble again?

> Sorry I had to take a break -- doorbell rang!

<carokent> get rid of 'em?

* nhp is taking notes!

<a-net> How dare them!

<a-net> Yes, Ray is nice.

<nhp> So is KW with us now?

> kw: Ray Faiola, in the beginning, was very suspicious that all of the pro-Christy mail was so organized, he didn't want to recognize it as significant. I think he changed, when he realized the comments were individual, not just a deluge of postcard, cookie-cutter comments. I'm glad you're having a good friendship with him. Tell him Hi! for me!

<a-net> Oh, I am glad I mentioned that I'm from Texas.

<carokent> I wrote him a very nice letter recently.

<nhp> Ken, can you think of anyone besides Ray and FOX to call for a Christy comeback?

<Dilla> The only way I was able to reach him was that I asked the lady for her supervisor.

> kw: Les Moonves at CBS, of course.

<Calico1> he hears from us alot.

> kw: For the most effectiveness, I may have to try and clear up the Family Rights situation, but it is good to keep the demand going.

<nhp> Do we have any ghost of a chance of a Christy comeback? Are they listening to us?

<a-net> Or laughing at us?

<nhp> Would it help for any of us to write the Marshall family?

<Dilla> I think that they must realize that the interest is still there.

> kw: Nancy: Absolutely. We indeed have a chance , in fact the feature film concept may be a viable way of getting back to television. Would all of you and your friends enjoy seeing a Christy feature film with a "stand-alone" story?

<carokent> absolutely!

<nhp> You bet!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<Calico1> Sure thing!

<a-net> ANYTHING!

<nukecity> YES

<Dilla> Sure, one that would allow for future episodes as well.

<carokent> but it would be nice to resolve the cliffhanger, too!

<carokent> hint, hint!

<nhp> But would KM be willing to come back?

> kw: Cliff-hangers are supposed to be cliff-hangers! :)!

<nhp> she could be a problem!

<Calico1> How about Td and SFM?

<nhp> Td?

<a-net> And Randall?

<alexarthur> Absolutely! Would the same great cast be back?

<carokent> can't "hang" forever!

<nhp> Tyne

<Dilla> That cliffhanger! The TV guide said that it was a "cliffhanger of sorts with regards to the future of the characters" but it didn't prepare me for what happened!

<carokent> Good ole TV Guide!

> kw: Kellie has a very special place in her heart for Christy, and I think it is growing, since all of her TV movies have all had a 20+ share, except for the last one, 'View From the Edge'.

<nhp> Maybe it was all of dream. like DAllas

<Calico1> KM did a good job with Christy.

> kw: Which had only half, a 12-share, when it ran against Hallmark's Rose Hill on CBS.

<nhp> But Ken, her one interview on TV didn't sound very endearing to Christy

> kw: I think everyone formerly involved would like to do more 2-hour Christy specials, and would attempt to make thier schedules fit.

<nhp> i read her remarks. She sounded bad

<Calico1> How does Tyne Daly feel about doing Miss Alice again?

<carokent> A 2-hour Xmas special would be lovely!

<nhp> she was great!

> kw: Even if we had to do some re-casting, the Christy story remains strong, and it's amazing how quickly we'd get used to the change, if we had to!

<a-net> Have you kept in touch with any of the actors?

<nukecity> I was always interested in a spin-off when it looked like the end of Christy - still a possibility??

<Dilla> The cast had such chemistry.

<nhp> I agree totally

<alexarthur> several of the old shows have done well coming back in the two hour tv movie format, haven't they? Columbo, Hart to Hart, Simon and Simon, etc..

> kw: I keep in touch with them all, Annette.

<Calico1> AND the scripts were terrific!

<a-net> Even Randall.

<Dilla> I think we need more shows about the turn-of-the-century.

<a-net> I agree with Dilla.

> kw: Yes, I'm sorry that KM was feeling that way when she was on the interview, (I just saw RB two weeks ago in his new condo in Santa Monica. He looks terrific, and is being considered for several top feature films.)

<alexarthur> can you catch us up on the other cast members?

<a-net> Ken, I just wanted to let you know I have never been so passionate about a show in all my life.

> kw: I think KM was feeling the understandable teenage angst, and reluctance to be anything but a young person not wanting to be categorized. However, I hope she is beginning to realize that Christy is perhaps her most respected and loved acting assignment.

<Calico1> Me neither. I never watch tv, but Christy really touched me!

<a-net> But Christy and Fusia were her best!

<carokent> I can't think of anything better to be categorized as!

<nhp> Should we consider writing to KM?

> kw: As these contemporary shows offer inferior story material, I think it will be increasingly evident that she was just right for Christy and vice-versa.

<Dilla> I hope so.

> kw: Dilla, Yes, we do need more turn-of-the-century, period shows which are timeless, not dated. In fact, some of the early Touched By An Angel shows are already looking "dated", cars, hairstyles, etc.. are quickly recognizable for a certain

<alexarthur> Ken, I am with annette..there was something undeniably inspirational/charismatic about Christy. I have not had the same TV/book experience since.

> kw: time period. Little House On The Prairie is a good example of an ageless show, along with the Waltons.

<a-net> Christy puts Waltons to shame.

<Calico1> But Christy had something special about it!

> kw:alexarthur: We had a lot of this, back and forth, book to tv, tv to book, and fortunately the readers and viewers seem to enjoy the correlation. We had very few really upset

<a-net> Sarah, thanks for setting this chat up. This is great!

> kw: readers who felt we strayed from the book. I really worked hard to try and be faithful to the spirit of the book, and still allow for some plausible stretches. I'm not sure I was comfortable with MacNeil's former wife, Margaret, returning

<Calico1> Yes, bringing margaret back was confusing at first, but it certainly added some zest to the story-line.

<carokent> I loved the character of Margaret!

<Dilla> What were the circumstances regarding her return?

<carokent> She added a little twist to the story!

<nhp> It is funny how they have Tyne Daly and the book version of Miss Alice is a blond

> kw: the way she did, but I could also see the writers' showing the humanness of Alice, in her attempts to raise her daughter, to keep her teaching ....

<nhp> But I like Tyne Daly!

<Dilla> little? uh...

<Calico1> Yes, she did a wonderful and very believable portrayal of Alice Henderson.

> kw: nhp: Tyne Daly was CBS's strong reccomendation because of Tyne's extremely high TV 'Q', which is a tv-star popularity rating.

<nukecity> Mr. Wales, is the option of a Christy spin-off a viable one?

<alexarthur> Ken, I think you did an outstanding job being faithful to the spirit of the book. In fact, I think you made it come alive in ways that only the tv/movie medium can do. I liked all of your subtle changes..

<a-net> Ditto (with alexarther)

<Calico1> I can't help but think that Catherine Marshall would have been delighted to see how well Christy was done.

> kw: In fact, TV Guide polls consistently showed Tyne was the one dramatic actress they wished to see in their favorite shows. It surprised me at first, but since I had worked with Tyne the first year of Cagney and Lacey, I was familiar with her

<carokent> Was Tyne your first choice for the role?

<nhp> Ken, Nuke has an interesting question. Is a Christy spin-off an option?

> kw: fine acting ability. When I thought about it, she became a very good choice, and because of her deep preparation, was the actor on the set who knew just the appropriate Bible reference to add to the scene.

<alexarthur> How did you come across SFM for Neil MacNeill?

> kw: nhp: Yes, a spin-off is, although it can't be too close because of the legal problem, but something as I suggested such as the doctor in the mountains is a possibility.

<carokent> Dr. MacNeill, Medicine Man!

<a-net> With a love interest?

<nhp> LOL Caro

<Calico1> SFM really was the spirit of MacNeil as portrayed in the book.

<nhp> How about the pastor Grantland with a new woman? LOL a-net

> kw: alexarthur: SFM was suggested at the last minute by CBS casting, and it was perfect.

<a-net> Wow!

<carokent> And I'm glad that he persisted with his desire to portray Neil with a scottish accent.

<Calico1> He certainly added a great deal to the show. Good chemistry between SFM and KM.

> kw: Annette: Yes, we need a new romantic challenge, since Cecil went back to the Conservatory.

<nhp> I love SFM! {{{{SFM}}}}

<Calico1> SFM-itis strikes another!!!

<carokent> Maybe David could visit his friend Cecil!

<carokent> Or Sissel I should say!

<nhp> He can come to Vermont anytime he wants too. I will make room for him

<carokent> Hi Dilla!

<a-net> LOL, Caro

<Calico1> Hey don't forget Boston!

<Dilla> Hmmm...I'm lost.

<carokent> Maybe he'd like to revisit Tn.?

<nhp> We were just glowing about SFM

<Calico1> We're talking about SFM dilla!!

<a-net> Ken, have there been any other pro-David Grantland fans?

<carokent> We're inviting SFM to visit us

> kw: If you want to, send anything to me, and I'll see that the actor gets it. Then they can decide if they want to write back.

<nhp> {{{{SFM}}}} yum!

<Calico1> Oh yes, glowing is much better!

<Dilla> And I missed it??

<carokent> yep

<nhp> Tell SFM he can use my computer!

> kw: Annette: Absolutely. He's our hunk answer to 90210.

<nhp> what can we send to SFM?

<carokent> Annette is probably glowing now!

<Calico1> How about Caro?!

<a-net> With alt.tv.christy, I seem to be the only one.

<carokent> I've got the tape and paper right here!

<Dilla> Annette--I think I remember a few others, but they're lurkers.

<carokent> No, A, there's several more!

<carokent> 3 out of a thousand!

* Dilla grins

<nhp> Could you send me to SFM?

> kw: Randall was terrific. He'd never been in a church before, and was willing to play the minister. He asked if he could go to church with me the week before, and went every week after.

* nhp dreams of SFM!

<Calico1> Hey don't forget me!

<Dilla> I believe you all have swooned.

<a-net> I wonder what Ken makes out of us Love Sick Fools.

<nhp> What about you Dilla?

<Calico1> But what a way to go!!

<carokent> Randall did a terrific job considering, if that's the case.

> kw: He also went to minister boot-camp with Dr. David Poling, in Albequerque, a retired Presbyterian minister.

<Calico1> yes, he made a good minister!

<nhp> Randall just doesn't do a thing for me, sorry Annette

<carokent> Did they try to recruit him?

<nhp> for the priest hood? LOL

<Dilla> Nancy: Oh, I think Christy should choose Neil, but not while he's married.

> kw: I am currently writing an historical novel with Dr. Poling about the WWII hereoic incident, the sinking of the USAT Dorchester by a German U-boat.

<nhp> Of course

<Calico1> Ok, so how do we get rid of Margaret- tastefully!

> kw: The story features four chaplains of different faiths that give up their life-jackets to four men who have none.

<nhp> Caro has a way with Margaret

<nhp> don't you CAro?

<alexarthur> didn't that happen in Hawaii?

<Dilla> Say, I'll look for it as I'm shelving books (in about a year or so, I'm sure).

> kw: The chaplains link arms, pray together to their One God and drown as the ship goes down. "Greater Love hath No Man than this.. That a man lay down his life for his friends."

<Calico1> Yes, I've heard about that story! It's very inspirational...and sad.

<nhp> I am so glad you could be here tonight Ken

<nhp> Thank you for your time.

<Calico1> Yes, we really appreciate your giving us this time!

<a-net> Have you ever done this before?

<carokent> Yes, we are most appreciative!

<Dilla> Oh, thank you so much!

<alexarthur> I believe one of the ministers was a Methodist, right, Ken?

<nhp> I feel encouraged!!!!

> kw: I'm really getting genuinely teary about this.. you are all so very, very special!

<Calico1> So are you!

<Dilla> !

> kw: I can't begin to tell you what it means to have your unceasing, kind and generous encouragement.

<carokent> I would love to see a book on the making of Christy!

<nhp> If you see SFM, tell him we love him...especially nhp!

<a-net> wow, caro--great suggestion!

<carokent> You have all of that and more!

> kw: Your faithfulness and determination to go to the ends of the earth to enable something to happen will continue to influence and change lives.

<Calico1> Or the scenes that ended up on the cutting room floor, ie. Outtakes from the Road Home.

<Dilla> I'm sure you must have had to overcome many obstacles in getting Christy to TV--it's the least we can do to support you!

> kw: It's worth every bit of it, isn't it?

<Calico1> YES!!!

<nhp> do they have any Christy Bloopers?

<nhp> They might be fun

<alexarthur> ken, Christy has always been a favorite..but with your gift of bringing Christy to the TV screen; my daughter and husband have now had the opportunity to know the inspirational story.

<Dilla> Hmmm...now that's a good idea of a way to regenerate interest in the show without creating new episodes--the making of it...maybe then more people will join the cause!

<nukecity> Mr. Wales, this may be a dumb question, but who decides on the story line, the introduction of new characters, and such?

<Calico1> Amen!

> kw: caro: I thought about it, and then offered two contracts to do just that. Somehow, it seems that being able to share the story like this, or in person, or magazine articles has helped do just that. Sadly, I am concerned if I indeed told the entire scenario, "in story", there would be many moments of even hurtful incidents of betrayal, that would honestly have to be mentioned. So at the moment, I'm being "led" to let healing take place. That also gives some increased insight. I think you probably understand what I'm saying.

<Dilla> I see.

<carokent> Well, it was a lovely thought!

<Dilla> I think that the Internet has brought us all closer together and has helped us join forces.

<Calico1> For a very good cause.

<Dilla> I thought I was the only Christy fan until I met Caro, and then Nuke, and then Annette, and etc.

> kw: Nuke: The writers, Barney Rosenzweig, my partner, all of us together share in that. There is so much great stuff remaining in the book to tell, we haven't even begun to scratch the surface! I am so pleased to see that all of you have different favorite episodes. That is the greatest compliment, that we did indeed provide a variety, and weren't redundant. One of my favorite episodes was "The Hunt", when Tyne Daly teaches the little boy how to pray when his hunting dog dies. Singer Lee, in fact, was the bloodhound for the local prison, and we 'borrowed' him for a couple of days... must have been no prisoners loose!

<nhp> So Christy fans, should we meet once a week on mIRC

<Calico1> It gives us a voice we otherwise wouldn't have.

<carokent> a voice that has definitely grown stronger not weaker!

<Calico1> Definitely..YES!

<Dilla> Nancy: Sure, but EFnet is better for me.

<nhp> EFnet? I would have to check my listing to see if I have that server.

<Calico1> Faith WILL find what it is seeking....D. Bohoeffer.

<a-net> I like that same episode---for different reasons.---Lots of David!!

<carokent> Poor Singer Lee!

<Dilla> How funny!

<carokent> Coincidence?

<Calico1> Green Apples was also very inspirational. Laying on of hands with Creed Allen.

<a-net> A new respect for that episode. I would love to hear a lot about the secrets of each episode.

> kw: Calico1: I'm also working on a project on the Life of Bohoeffer. There have been a lot of people who have tried it, but nobody's come up with the right script yet. But we'll get there!

<a-net> Mike Hickman once told us about the little secret about Lundy making pretend rain.

<alexarthur> I like Ruby Mae's wedding scene in the book..Neil and Christy dancing..the good doctor muscial talents showcased..does SFM sing?

<Calico1> Hey that's great!. His theology is so heartwarming!

> kw: The Dorchester Project temporarily called "Sea of Glory" will become a feature film after the book is published by Broadman and Holdman, who released the Christy tapes.

<Calico1> Or dance??

<Dilla> Oh, by the way, I just love the songs in the show!

> kw: The book will be released July 1998.

<Dilla> After the Ball,

<Dilla> Ta-Ra-Ra Boom Der È

<Calico1> And Shady Grove, that's a classic!

<Dilla> They were a pleasant surprise.

<a-net> I love the costumes, Dilla.

<Dilla> (the songs)

<nhp> I am going to order the videos from Great Christian Books soon. They are reasonable

<Dilla> Oh, I know!!! The shoes...

<carokent> so what else is new, A!

* Dilla sighs...

> kw: I want to mention the songs... I started to select the hymns and the songs, and then my wife Susan took over and did a super job researching the songs of the period, which all had to be in public domain. This was perfect, as it gave us very

<Calico1> And added much to the indivudual stories.

> kw: authentic mountain pieces.

<Dilla> Oh, so After the Ball is public domain! Hmm...good to know...

<a-net> I like that song sung when Ida married Mr. Sweetwater.

<Calico1> Many are traditional folk songs.

<Dilla> How about Till We Meet Again?

<nhp> So does Family have the Christy shows or does Fox...THe reruns I mean.

> kw: We're up to volume 7 on the videos, which is, I think, "Man's Reach" and "Secret Story" (new title for Ghost Story).

<carokent> I love that song, Dilla!

<Calico1> And does MTM still fit into any of this?

<alexarthur> thanks to caro's faq, i was able to order all the Christy audio/video tapes plus a couple of scripts..does anyone know how the sales have been?

<carokent> I heard it the other night on Lawrence Welk!

<nhp> ????

<nhp> Lawrence Welk?

> kw: MTM simply grants the rights, in terms of the videos. It's just business.

<a-net> What did you hear, Caro?

<nukecity> Our prayers are with you.

<carokent> I just received the last one from TimeLife.

<Calico1> Time/Life video says they are very popular!!!

<carokent> The song, 'Til We Meet Again.

<a-net> Oh.

> kw: Also, I just had a nice phone call from Annabelle Price, who played Ida, and she sent her very much "Ida-best" wishes!

<alexarthur> caro, I watch Lawrence too..much to the chagrin of my husband!

<carokent> They were sold out of the journal for awhile.

<carokent> I love that show! I grew up watching it with my grandma!

<Calico1> O Perfect Love was just beautiful!

<nhp> CAro, please!

> kw: Also have you seen Steven Root, (Clarence Sweetwater) on NewsRadio?

<carokent> I cry every time I hear the music played at the end.

> Just a minute.....

<a-net> Yes, "O Perfect Love."

<Dilla> Nuke, could you hear me?

<a-net> Hee, Hee, I didn't know he was in a sitcom.

<Dilla> That's why he looked familiar!!!!!

<Calico1> Ron Ramin did a wonderful job with the music and theme song.

<a-net> Is KM taking a break?

<a-net> I mean KW.

> Annette: Kellie or Ken??

<carokent> Or both?

<a-net> Ken. I am sorry. Just a typo.

> kw: No break for me! Kellie is back at her second year at Yale, in Art History.

<carokent> It's getting dark outside!

*** Signoff: nukecity (trapdoor.ca.us.dal.net quantum.routing.dal.net)

<carokent> why is everyone leaving?

<a-net> I think they are being thrown off.

<alexarthur> ken, do we know the name of the new movie SFM will be in?

> kw: O Perfect Love has a great back-story. I think it was written by a lady poet for her sister's wedding-lyrics.

<Dilla> Nuke'

<Calico1> Time for tea?

> Caro, I think they are being pinged out...

> kw: alex: Sorry, I don't. I'll get it for you.

<carokent> hi nuke

<Dilla> Hiya Nuke

<alexarthur> caro, its not dark in "sunny..actually foggy.." California!

<carokent> Yes and the release date if possible

<nhp> I don't think you can necessarily be pinged out. I haven't been yet

<carokent> If we get any more rain here I'm going to float away!

<Dilla> I was pinged out.

> kw: What do you think of the videos? Do you all have them?

<Calico1> We'd really like to know

<carokent> Well, pong 'em back!

<Dilla> Hey Nuke--I was responding, ok.

<Calico1> Hey, we need rain here in New England!

<a-net> I have four. I get a new one every Christmas/Birthday.

<Calico1> The videos are great!!

<carokent> I have the whole collection now!

<carokent> I'm broke but happy!

<Dilla> pardon me if you're not

<nhp> it is about the show Christy Dennis

<Calico1> Wish there were more ....sigh!!!

<carokent> about a hundred or so!

<Dilla> alt.tv.christy

<Calico1> Oh yes!

<nhp> I just realized that no topic was listed! Just the room #CutterGap

<carokent> I think "CutterGap" is self-explanatory!

> kw: All 21 hours will be on 11 cassettes by the end of '98 from Broadman and Holdman, generally in the order in which they aired.

<nhp> that might have helped

<nukecity> Where were you guys???

> Sorry Nancy! I never got around to a topic...

<nhp> not for a lurker.

<a-net> Good News, Ken!

<nukecity> I was here all by myself!

<nukecity> Did you have an earthquake out there?

<nukecity> Roll call!

<Dilla> What? We're here.

<nhp> I am here Nuke

<SilentSam> Here!

<carokent> I haven't left!

<Calico1> me too!

<a-net> Here

<nukecity> Everyone ok? Did you get zapped through cyberspace?

<Dilla> That's odd. What did it say?

<carokent> no

<Dilla> Bzzzttt

<carokent> Am I the only one who hasn't been kicked off tonight?

<carokent> knock wood!

> kw: Nuke: Yeah, we did have an earthquake.

* Dilla Zaps Nuke

<a-net> I haven't been.

<nukecity> Hello - - - - -

<nukecity> Say something, someone.

<nhp> I haven't Caro

<Dilla> something someone

<carokent> hello!

<Calico1> me neither.

> Nuke, where are your questions?

> <chuckle... :>

<carokent> Nuke is having problems I think with her server?

<nhp> I am trying to chat privately with Nuke. she is ok

<Dilla> Oops, I think I really zapped her! <grin>

<carokent> bad dilla!

<nukecity> This is weird.

<nhp> I just saw Nuke again

<carokent> what's happenin' Nuke?

<nhp> It is probably the server.

<nhp> It has happened to me plenty of times before

<nhp> It is just like silence and you are the only one typing seemingly

<carokent> What earthquake are we refering to? Did you guys have an earthquake today?

<nukecity> Is this the Twilgiht Zone??

<Dilla> like now

> Yo, people!! What happened to the questions??

<nukecity> A mean trick??

<Dilla> I didn't feel it? Did we?

<alexarthur> ken, I was really pleased to see Tyne Daly receive the Emmy for Christy.

<a-net> Ken, do you have a favorite quote from the show?

<Calico1> Or a favorite show!

<Dilla> What obstacles did you have to overcome?

<Dilla> There, we bombarded you now!

* Dilla grins

<nukecity> Finally -

<nukecity> I was all alone!

> kw: It was terrific! As you saw on the live Emmy show, Tyne was completely flabbergasted and surprised. She did not have any expectation of winning, especially due to the highly talented competition...

<Calico1> It was good publicity for Christy

<nukecity> Hi - don't do that again!

<nhp> yes it was.

<Dilla> That was simply wonderful!

> kw: She called me the next day and deeply apologized; she couldn't remember anyone's names, except for Barney Rosenzweig, and even messed up his name!

<Calico1> that's okay

<carokent> I'm sure I would be speechless if I had won as well!

<carokent> I'd probably faint!

<a-net> Mine is "Sometimes it's the difficulty of the task that makes it worth doing. If it were easy, then it wouldn't mean as much." I am a teacher and I share that quote all the time with the school. (I got it from the Sweetest Gift.)

<nhp> me too.

<nukecity> Yes, all of them. Treasures.

> kw: She was very gracious and took out an ad in Variety at the end of the week, thanking all the people individually involved with Christy. It was a lovely, gracious gesture, and much appreciated. I think people might forget that she was nominated both seasons as Best Supporting Actress In A Dramatic Show.

<carokent> I would have liked to have seen that!

<Dilla> Annette, what a lovely quote for a classroom! I wish you were my teacher.

<carokent> I'll bet her students don't agree with her!

<a-net> They love me!!

*** Signoff: alexarthur (Ping timeout)

<carokent> here we go again!

<Calico1> How about...God gave you the right when He gave you the gift!

<a-net> Ken, I read Christy to my class and I have a Christy quilt hanging in my classroom.

<carokent> I like that one!

<Dilla> Silent Sam will go next--he's too silent.

> kw: Great, Annette! My mom was a teacher for 45 years, just like Christy. She was extraordinary, a lecturer, taught world history and Shakespeare, was a painter.. could do anything!

<a-net> Oh, Calico---that quote is on my quilt.

<Dilla> I think Cutter Gap needs a library.

> kw: She was the best, and I miss her very much. She lived to see all the Christy episodes.

> kw: In fact, waiting for them was what kept her will to live going.

<a-net> I am sorry, Ken.

<Dilla> I can tell you loved her very much.

> kw: My dad, a wonderful man of God, was a minister for 53 years. Sadly, he did not get to see Christy, but certainly watched it from above. People say I'm a real 50/50 mix from my parents, and I treasure that legacy.

<Calico1> I'm glad she got to see them.

<nukecity> What do you mean, Caro. I saw EVERYONE leave but me!

<a-net> Your mom sounds like my mom. My mom quilted the Christy quilt for me.

> kw: You know what they say about Preacher's kids!

<nukecity> Ow.

<carokent> I didn't leave!

<Calico1> you carry on that legacy very well!!

<nhp> It sounds wonderful, Ken!

<carokent> Sniff! I'm getting teary!

<nhp> Christy quilt, I would love to see a pic of it.

> kw: Great story idea, about the library. I like it!

<carokent> Is it still on the website, A?

<a-net> It was on the Christy web site for a while.

<nhp> How did she do it Annette

<carokent> stitch by stitch!

<nukecity> I can chat with nhp just fine . . .

<nhp> I would love to see it,

<nukecity> Help

<Dilla> Wow!

<carokent> Nuke is having problems?

> kw: I would love to see it, too. It must be very special.

<SilentSam> Nuke is lagged.

<Calico1> It's very beautiful!

<nhp> I am trying to chat privately with nuke to see what the prob is.

<a-net> I drew the pictures and copied them onto the material and she sewed them. It has a big school house in the center.

<nukecity> I'm trying to chat with Ken Wales!!! and my ATC buddies.

<a-net> Then it has pictures and quotes around it. It is my favorite quilt she has quilted.

<carokent> Huh?

<Calico1> She did a great job with the lettering on that quilt. Such detail!

<carokent> A - where is the quilt now? Did you leave it in your classroom?

<a-net> Ken, do you have a business address that I can send a picture of the quilt to. Or am I allowed to ask that?

<SilentSam> nhp: 2 seconds

<a-net> My quilt is still in my classroom.

> Annette, I'll send you the address later, 'kay?

<carokent> is it safe to leave it there

<a-net> Great!

<Calico1> The children must love it!

> Next question??? <chuckle... :>

<carokent> It's lovely that a whole new group of kids are introduced to Christy each year via A.

<a-net> I wish I still had the children in school, so they could write to Ken. Ken, my students loved the story so much. I had a hard beginning of the year. The story truly brought us together.

<SilentSam> Is Susan there?

<Calico1> What was it like--filming in the mountains?

<a-net> Did you get muddy?

<carokent> other than the townsend site and the original mission site in Del Rio were any other locations considered for the filming?

<carokent> They'd get muddy this year for sure!

> kw: If Susan were here, you would very much know she were here, happily!!

> kw: Very muddy, and loved every bit of it! Oddly, the rain never totally stopped our filming. Mike Rhodes, the director, and Mike Fash, the cinematographer, were an extraordinary team that I hand-picked.

<Calico1> A lot of us have days when we don't know if we're coming or going!

> kw: I knew that Mike Fash would help Mike Rhodes rearrange the scenes so they could take advantage of the extraordinary light shifts that painted the mountains and terrain.

<Calico1> The scenery was gorgeous.!!

<Dilla> Yes, that was beautiful cineamatography.

<carokent> Very beautiful in autumn!

<carokent> And winter and spring . . .

> kw: I think people are right on target, in the industry when they praise Christy as having the highest quality of production they've ever seen on tv..i.e., shot on 35mm film, shot on location, and waiting for the right moment and the right light.

<Calico1> what about summer??!!

<carokent> too hot!

<a-net> Ken, do you prefer a man for Christy? David or Neil.

> kw: *Every* season had its own specialness!

<Dilla> I have a question...is it like being in 1910, or are the cameras, etc. too distracting?

> kw: Townsend was exactly the perfect place to film, and the Abbott Family would not welcome any other film project but Christy.

<a-net> Autumn looks great on TV.

<carokent> So are they planning to keep the structures intact?

> kw: Annette: Do you suppose we could have Christy marry both? ;->! LOL

<carokent> No way!

<Calico1> Everything about Christywas truly perfect. maybe that was part of the attraction!

<Dilla> I think then you'd have to kill one off.

<carokent> Engaged to one and marry the other perhaps?

<a-net> No, I was just wondering if you and your wife had a preference.

> kw: Dilla: No, you really feel like you are there, in 1912.

<Calico1> But interesting!

<SilentSam> Hi nhp

<nhp> I could see it now!

<nhp> LOL

<Dilla> Really?

* Dilla sighs...

> kw: I so wish that Leonora Wood, the original Christy, could have seen the tv show.

<Calico1> or Catherine Marshall herself!

> kw: I knew her well, and spent a lot of time with her at the family farm in Lincoln, Virginia. In fact, I have some video tapes when I interviewed her in her rocker on the porch, under her knitted comforter/afghan.

<carokent> Do you think you made the right decision in airing CHristy as a tv movie/series as opposed to a feature film?

<nhp> Nuke are you there?

> kw: caro: You may remember I had hoped to do a feature film, and then do a tv series.

<carokent> she's probably upset!

<carokent> but are you glad it worked out the way that it did?

<Dilla> I liked the tv series 'cause I could see it every week.

> kw: When you think about it, the tv series let us play the evolving story much more completely, and in a serial fashion.

<a-net> Me too, Dilla.

<Calico1> It was always a hi-point for me!

<carokent> And you probably wouldn't have had the same cast if you had gone the feature film route?

<Dilla> But towards the end I had to keep calling CBS to find out when it would be on because it was never advertised and the timeslot kept changing.

<nhp> just click on my name on the status bar

> kw: And of course, we reached enormous numbers of homes immediately, i.e., 18 million households, about 40 million people with the premiere 2-hour show on Easter Sunday Night, 1994.

<alexarthur> it was something I always looked forward to. When it was finally shown at the same time and day each week in reruns, my husband also got hooked.

<carokent> I remember that night so well!

<Calico1> CBS never really gave it the support it deserved!

> kw: Our ratings for that night were 17.9 rating with a 29 share; 1 share better than the premiere of Dr. Quinn.

<a-net> I do, too. I remember the advertising for it way before Easter.

<carokent> I remember the casting call for extras!

> kw: This was against a huge promotion for the Old Testament story of Abraham, which drew a very large Jewish viewership, etc...

<Dilla> Yes, Caro, why oh why didn't you go?

> kw: The next day, Variety headlines proclaimed, "CBS New Hit: Christy!"

<nukecity> I joined dragon.DAL.net, and have not been disconnected.

<Dilla> And it was a hit.

<Dilla> I liked it.

<nukecity> This server is in Salt Lake City, where the weather is better!

<nhp> are you there nuke?

<Calico1> I loved it!!

> kw: The timeslot changes was in the second season.

<Dilla> Nuke: great! hope you stay.

<alexarthur> the LA times gave it good reviews..didn't it?

<carokent> too tall!

<Calico1> Everyone gave it good reviews!

<a-net> I told everyone!

> kw: alexarthur: I'm glad your husband saw it, too. CBS was worried that we didn't have strong demographics in the male 18-35 range.

<Dilla> Yes, that's what I meant--towards the end it was awfully hard to find.

<carokent> Has a new show ever received such a tremendous response?

<Calico1> Especially the last episodes that aired inthe summer.

<Calico1> And then been cancelled?

> kw: Only shows like, "Friends" and shoot-em-up violent dramatic shows get those demographics. Strangely, the advertisers are willing to pay more, supposedly for that buying-decision making group.

<Dilla> Oh, how positively heartbreaking!

<nhp> Are we going to attempt to meet again sometime soon?

<Dilla> I think there are a lot of female fans in that demographic age range.

> kw: Caro: I can't think of one off hand... we did come back for the second season, even though Jeff Sagansky, the president of CBS, resigned.

<carokent> That was unfortunate timing, about JS's resignment!

<Calico1> He would have been a big help!

> kw: The affiliates in their annual meeting literally demanded that Christy be on the Fall Schedule for '94-'95, since Christy was the number one show in so many markets. It would have helped if we had been strong in New York, L.A., Detroit...

<nhp> I need to go my friends, are we going to attempt another chat sometime soon?

<a-net> Ken, thanks for the chat. I am going now.

<nukecity> I'm on the Toronto server now with the rest of you.

*** a-net has left channel #cuttergap

<nhp> nuke can you see me?

<carokent> I'm not on Toronto?

<nukecity> yup

> kw: We did have incredible ratings in Indianapolis: 41, Charlotte-Atlanta: 34.

<alexarthur> My husband was a little surprised at first at how much he liked the show. He got hooked after a couple of episodes and then of course was quite disapointed to find it cancelled.

<Calico1> same time same place...next week?

<nhp> I will email you very soon.

<carokent> Those are major markets, are they not?

<nhp> I think I have your correct email

> kw: I love meeting you all. You are very special in my life. Let's get together again soon.

<Calico1> How about Boston..was that a good market?

<carokent> How did Christy do in NY or Chicago

<carokent> Please! Let's do!

<Calico1> We'd love to!!

<nhp> Ken, thank you for coming to our meeting.

<nukecity> Yes, nhp, I can.

<nhp> I am glad I could be here.

<Dilla> That would be simply wonderful. We appreciate your time!

<carokent> We've enjoyed this immensely!

<alexarthur> I am in the LA market and most of our friends watched with their families. It was a nice change from the usual family viewing choices.

<Calico1> It's meant a great deal to us to have your support too!

> kw: Christy doubled its share from 7 to 15 in Chicago after I spoke and did some publicity on channel 38 in Chicago.

<alexarthur> Ken, you cannot know how much your dedication to this program has continued to mean to us.

<Dilla> If there is anything we can do, we will.

<Calico1> Definitely

<carokent> You should have done publicity everywhere!

<nhp> I hope to see Christy back on the silver screen before too long!

> kw: In Boston, it was above average. As Alice Henderson reminds Christy, "If we don't do the work that God gives us to do, then who will do it?"

<Calico1> As Miss Alice said to Dr. Ferrand..There's always hope!

> kw: ... And you all are doing it, loyally, faithfully and with great committment.

> kw: I love you guys!

<carokent> Ditto!

<Calico> And Hope, along with faith can move mountains (or maybe tv executives)!

<Dilla> Please pardon this question, but I saw a long truck recently (December) with the Christy logo...???

<carokent> I forgot about that, Dilla!

<carokent> The one that was headin' this way!

> kw: It might have been one that we used, Dilla, on the show. Perhaps it was one of our drivers.

<Calico1> Nothing gets past our Dilla!

<nhp> are we going to meet on chat soon Caro?

<Dilla> I did a double take.

<carokent> sure, nhp

<Dilla> Thank you...I sure was curious.

<carokent> I guess it was kinda hard to miss, Dilla

<carokent> is nuke here?

<nhp> who, what, where, and when?

<nukecity> I think I am!!!

<carokent> That's good!

<Calico1> I'm game for another meeting nhp!

<Dilla> yes you are

> Everyone ready to leave off for the night?

<nhp> I really need to go. Again thank you Ken and keep up the good work!!!

<carokent> Yes, I have to go.

<Calico1> God Bless!!

> Good night, Nancy!

<Dilla> Thanks again!

<carokent> Thanks again, Ken! You've really given us hope for the future!

<nhp> Night Kadia, see you around

<Dilla> And may God continue to bless you.

> Take care, Everyone! Sleep well!

<nhp> so who will decide the next chat?

<nukecity> Is it too late to tell Mr. Wales that Mike Hickman says hello, send his best and is in NC doing an independent film?

<Calico1> Good night all and thanks kadia for having us!!

> Ken will...

> kw: That's great, MikeH!

> kw: Keep up the superb work -- you're the best!

<nhp> thank you Sarah for your great typing fingers!

<nukecity> Thanks very much.

<Calico1> So are You Mr. Wales..the best that is!

<nhp> so when do we meet again?

<nhp> or will we just see something appear on the newsgroup

> kw: One last story: I was walking across the parking lot in Townsend of the Christy Musical outdoor theatre... This was the early stage of preparation, and we were just about to get into local casting. As I stared at the beautiful sunset, a shadow came toward me carrying two buckets. This figure approached, and as it came close I smiled and said, "Hello there, my name is Ken." This fellow put down the buckets and said he was Mike Hickman, and had just lost everything he owned in a fire that burned down the box-office/apartment he lived in at the Musical Theatre.

<Dilla> oh no!

> kw: We talked for quite a while, and I know that God led me to see something very special about Mike.

<nukecity> bye nhp

<nhp> see you on the flip flop

> kw: I invited him to help us cast the film locally, since he had taught drama at a college.

<nhp> bye Alex

<nhp> bye Calico

<nhp> Bye Caro

<nhp> Bye Dilla

<carokent> bye nhp

<nhp> Bye Dave

<Calico1> g'nite nhp!

<nhp> Bye nuke

<carokent> we sound like the waltons!

<nhp> Bye silent

<Calico1> Why not? We're family!

<nhp> Now that I have thoroughly annoyed you all bye ken

> kw: But most important was his beautiful spirit. We instantly became great friends, and through the encouragement of Mike Rhodes and myself, MikeH worked hard and literally beat out the Hollywood candidates for Bird's-Eye Taylor. You might say

<nhp> Goodnight Christy

<nukecity> back to the Mike story . . .

<nhp> I won't say goodbye to her

<nhp> cos I want to see her again!

<nhp> LOL

> kw: Mike Rhodes and I kept away the buzzards, so that MikeH could have the opportunity to share his acting gifts. He earned every bit of the well-deserved praise for his performances.

<alexarthur> ken, that is a great story!

> kw: They were always right-on, and in the perfect spirit.

<SilentSam> I also have to go. I hope to talk to you again.

<Calico1> Yes, he did a good job with Birds Eye!

<carokent> Perfect for the role!

> kw: God, indeed, was there at our Sunset Meeting.

<nukecity> I told him his accent was very very good. He was proud of that!

<Calico1> And God's hand is perhaps still on Christy!

> kw: Good night, everyone!

<nukecity> Good night and thanks!

<carokent> Is this goodbye for good now?
